The functional component of the product Hepatron® is Betaine. Betaine or trimethylglycine is a methylated derivative of glycine; a bipolar molecule with three methyl groups (CH3). Due to both of these features, Betaine is involved in protein and energy metabolism, but in addition, it offers highly effective physiological benefits by its osmoregulatory effects

MOA:

As well as reducing choline chloride and methionine, Hepatron® supports intestinal stability with its osmoregulatory effect and ensures maximum resorption potential for nutrient uptake through the intestinal mucous membranes. 

In poultry, it promotes the effect of coccidiostats and ensures drier litter 

Furthermore, with its balancing effect on the water level of the cells Hepatron® can lower the animal’s need for energy, and can have a positive impact on the carcass.

Betaine is available as a by-product of sugar beet processing. But it can also be derive from a synthetic production process. The most popular forms of feed-grade betaine are Betaine anhydrous and Betaine hydrochloride.
